Part-time faculty: Syracuse University, College for Professional Studies

A surprising joy when College for Professional Studies asked me to create knowledge management courses.

From January 2019 to May 2020, I created five 3 credit undergraduate online courses in Knowledge Management.

  • The process included topic research, conceptualizing, design, script writing and lesson plans.
  • Recorded 33 asynchronous lectures in studio.
  • I taught three, 8 week online courses in Knowledge Management.

Why do this?

  • The first time I encounter Knowledge Management was when I presented a paper on Skype at a conference in Cheboksary, Russia (2014).
  • I talked about “The Management of Knowledge (KM) and continuous education as a basis of stable regional development.”
  • I also had years of experience translating tacit knowledge of business owners into systems and processes. so that they could scale their enterprizes.

I also enjoyed the interaction with the students when I taught the classes. Here is one of their responses.

“I have had the pleasure of studying under Mr Veitch for two classes now. I must pass along my appreciation for his teaching style and an open mind during his instruction. He is truly an asset to the University and a breath of fresh air in our studies.” – Jesse
